Current Research
The Research Department has a vision for the New Zealand College of
Chiropractic to become an international centre of excellence in
chiropractic
research.
Many of the projects we are currently undertaking involve
cutting edge
neurophysiological research. These projects include utilising
computerised
balance platforms to investigate the effect of chiropractic care on
falls risk
and transcranial magnetic stimulation, electromyography and
somatosensory evoked
potential techniques to investigate the effects of chiropractic
adjustments on
nervous system function. Other major focuses of the College research
programme
include studying the reliability of a number of vertebral subluxation
analytical
techniques and also the effects of chiropractic adjustments on autonomic
nervous
system function.
