Your Professional Development
As of January 2013, in accordance with the Health
Practitioners Competence Act 2003 the Chiropractic Board has determined
that all chiropractors shall engage in continuing professional
development (CPD) to maintain, continue and enhance their competence and
professional development as practitioners. The Board requires each
practitioner to accumulate a minimum of 50 hours of CPD of which at
least 25 must be "Formal Learning Activities (FLA), over a 2 year cycle.
Continuing professional development (CPD)The College is
privileged to have a world renowned faculty of chiropractors, many of
whom are experts in their field. We showcase their work and share their
knowledge at landmark College events such as our annual Lyceum and - new for 2013 - the Diagnostic Imaging Workshop. These events are
a great opportunity for the chiropractic profession to share ideas, get
inspiration and stay up to date with techniques and events in the world
of chiropractic. We are committed your professional development, and we
try to ensure College events have a strong CPD focus to make your
attendance even more worthwhile. Chiropractic DiplomatesWe also currently offer two diplomate programmes: the ICA Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Paediatrics and new for 2012, the Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers.
Chiropractic talks and eventsOur chiropractic talks and events see health and wellness practitioners from across the world speak at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic. Dr Bruce Lipton, Dr John Hinwood and Dr David Jackson are among the leading names that we are proud to welcome. Check back to see upcoming talks.
